AboutUs

Litote Architecture is a multidisciplinary group established in 2019 across Lucca, London and Milan.
We operate across a wide range of scales from strategic master planning through to residential work, including restoration and refurbishment of historic and listed buildings.
We offer a full range of architectural services, from the design stage through the procurement and the construction stages, with a keen eye for the detail characterized by a craftmanship approach.
The practice name - litote, i.e.
simplicity - reflects our belief that architecture is really successful when it is able to solve complex problems without looking complicated, but rather simple and legible.
The goal of every project is to provide a thoughtful response to the context making it strongly
site-specific and able to create a sense of place and stimulate the curiosity and the engagement of the people who live and experience that space.

Services

Services

Architecture & urban planning

Our goal is to create buildings and spaces that meet our client’s needs and enrich positively our environment.

We offer a full range of architectural design services, from concept through construction, with particular attention to environmental sustainability and the use of new technologies.

The use of innovative tools, such as BIM, allows us to manage the project effectively and collaboratively.

Interior design & renovation

We strive to create interior spaces that add value to the building and experience within each space.

We see our role as imagining how people will interact with and be affected by a space, and how we can enrich their time in it.

We offer full-service interior design, lighting design, and furniture, fixture & equipment (FF&E) procurement.

Project management and consulting

Private, developers, construction companies, and other professionals can refer us to manage all phases of the project, from defining the project brief and feasibility studies to detailed design, managing consultant and coordinating the design team, taking care of the planning applications process, managing the tender process, directing the construction works, to the final handover.

Building survey & analysis

We provide detailed & accurate measurements of a building showing all the structural and architectural features. We aim to achieve it with maximum accuracy.

We transform spatial data, collected by efficient methods and high-quality instruments (such as drone, laser scanner, total station) into design representations and management systems for buildings.

Manifesto

Manifesto

Litòte is not invention, but a patient search for signs
Says new things with words already said

Litòte does not seek clamor, but density and simplicity
Rejects the noisy emphasis and does more with less

Litòte does not state but rather suggests
implies a lot saying a little

Litòte is not improvisation, but repetition and observation
Imposes a rule to excess, normality to eccentricity

Litòte is lightness against heaviness, substance against appearance,
loving and slow care for the place against miraculous  and instantaneous healings,
parsimony and moderation against waste and exaggeration,
measured modesty against fleeting vanity
