The new space is configured as a large sloping “piazza”, made of different planes modelling the terrain to discover the ancient traces of the Nottolini aqueduct. A series of trees complete this urban landscape, becoming a visual filter between the railway and the city, and acting as an acoustic barrier. Below the “piazza” there is a large parking. An existing storage building is maintained as a historical feature and dedicated to a public information centre.
